Topiary of Love - Prologue

First off, here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Having finished the last chapter of my sexual endeavours, I spent some time reflecting upon the new job that I had, the new people I met and the direction where I was heading into.

Things now aren't as rich and colorful as compared to the good old days in '04-'05. In any case, I had to pick myself up from the rut and I semi-did (I reckon).

I'm currently working my butt off in another MNC in the Finance department. Woe betide me if I were to mention which company it is and may my soul rot in Hell if I were to lie about the horrid women I work with. I have a strong indication that the average age of the women sitting around me is 45 and they probably have sex half that number in a year!

Nevertheless, this is my new job and I will persist!

By the way, I would also like to send out an acknowledgement to the place where my stories first started off. (http://bar.sgforums.com) It was a chance drop-in then when I was looking for a new car to purchase and a friend of mine told me I could read up on some of the reviews at Sgforums. Picking out the Adult forum, I paid a visit, looked up some threads and the rest, as they always say, is history.

It was also a time when I was "learning" the Internet. I unashamedly allowed people to view my email address online, my Yahoo nick online and soon after the first two stories were published on the forums, I had a lot of requests from sex hungry Yahoo-ligans and my email address was probably sent to tons of porn email lists.

Lesson learnt, I promptly removed my personal info from the forum profile and slowly weeded out the unsavoury "characters" from Yahoo Messenger.

Well, not all were removed though. There was someone who added me on Yahoo, a nice lady who I kept up chats with a bit now and then. She was different than the rest, who I suspected were men pretending to be women.

Though the topics we discussed about spread far and wide, she always came back to the age old question of whether if these stories are true. Well, if they were not, I would be churning one out every other week.

I believe the anonymity of the Internet makes one a bit more open discussing sensitive issues. Initially, we only had small talk, coupled with a bit of ranting about work and life in general. As time went by, supposedly taboo topics were introduced, she told me more about her love life complimented with a dash of her sex life. She was an executive in a well known MNC and being ambitious at heart, spent most of her time at work. A dedicated woman, she was giving her all for promotion as well as trying very hard to secure her future. I would say she's a very gutsy lady and all the more I respected her goals in life.

We never talked about meeting but share some secrets we did. She was also akin to an editor, spotting grammatical and spelling mistakes where she could. My change to using Word as the text editor of choice was also sparked by her. Prior to Word, I was only using Notepad as I loved writing raw, inclusive of mistakes and all and not depending on a tool to tell me what I could or could not do.

Sometimes I did wonder how she looked like, as she was adamant about not sending me a picture of her. But as our friendship grew, I felt more curious and had a stronger yearning to see this support friend of mine. Without her encouragement and companionship, especially during the early part of 2006, I would still be in that rut and probably lost all will to pick myself up.

All in all, this story is dedicated to her and how we picked off from being Yahoo buddies to close, bosom pals.
